How do you cut the groove in a cab for wrapping?

Someone makes a groove cutting machine but I use a drill press. I made an aluminum base to fit into my drill press vise so I can slide the cab on it. I have a cut off bucket that I set the vice in so I can bring the water level up just above the base. I put a flat round burr in the chuck, lower the burr until it is the height that I want it over the base then lock the plunger so it will not go up. Then I slide the cab on the spinning burr to cut the groove. I use a permanent marker to mark a depth on the burr so I get it pretty close to the correct depth. It is not perfect but it gets the job done. I ordered new burrs today from here. Scroll down about half way to find the burrs that I am talking about. www.lopacki.com/burrs/Jim

Jim, can you post a photo of your setup? I've been wanting to groove wrap for a while but can't figure out how to rig something up.
Thanks!

I use one of these (inland wiz grinder) with one of these (jewelry bit) Works great, but it would probably be fairly easy to build the grinder then just buy the bit, but the grinders are fairly inexpensive.

the above method as to be one of the best Sasrock posted I been cutting grooves using a dremel and silicon disk with a steady hand --can get good results in a pinch it could also be done on the saw Ed

This is what I use, also. Takes some practice getting the groove depth right, but I use some lower quality stones to practice on.
