I went to the pit today with my daughter and found some cool stuff but I can't post pics because I dropped my battery for my camera behind the freezer and it went in the hole with the compresser so I have to wait until my husband gets home to get it. I do have another camera and will charge the battery and take pics tomarrow. It was awesome I got out of the truck and there was this big agate staring at me. it's my favorite for the day.

Dang... LOL... go figure... Glad you had an awesome day. Hope you find someone with real long arms, or one of those long grabbers, or somebody to move the fridge. Jo

Nice haul, Tammy. So, what did you ever do with that huge petrified stump your husband brought home for you? That was really cool.

I wished I could I can't drive that far ( can't even drive to walmart I have to have someone take me). I would have to get someone to drive me and not sure I could sit that long. thanks for the offer. I would love to see south dakota again it's been a couple of years I love the mountains and trees there isn't much here in the north as far as scenery. only in the badlands I like to drive in roosevelt national park and see all the wild life.

I lived north of Minot about 50 miles-right next to Manitoba Canada border, there is nothing up that way,but maybe a few arrowheads and a dead gopher......(all farmland) Could also watch your dog run away for three days(it was so flat).....LOL Yes RNP is awesome with the elk, buffalo and wild horses! The badlands is were I hunted lots of fossils and dino bones too.

Tammy, those are neat! What are they? Look like some kind of agate, but not translucent?

I believe those are Prairie Agates. Sometimes referred to as South Dakota Prairie Agate/Jasper, but I don't think they are restricted to South Dakota.

Very cool. If you make the offer you will find many people here willing to slab up those larger ones for the price of a couple of the slabs.

I have to ask Tammy, what part of North Dakota are you finding these in?? They are awesome!! I have found Montana agates by Williston and Porcelenite by Medora but I never even knew there were agates like that in North Dakota.
