right where the threads fasten the tumbler. have no idea how to fix it yet. might be able to put a collar over the shaft and have left-handed thread to fasten the barrel to. i love that tumbler because it would tumble rock in three days compared to three weeks with the thumbler tumbler. charlie

Well, first of all, the shaft didn't "just break". It was overtightened by the previous owner who said she couldn't remove it and the shaft was gouged from pliers from her husband trying to remove it for her. Problem was it has left hand threads so their removal efforts were tightening. I'm working on ordering the replacement shaft for Charlie but felt I should defend a pretty darn good product (over 30 sold with the only warranty failure a faulty gear motor).

John is ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!!! I was the previous owner that caused the damage!!! I tried to refund Charlie the entire purchase price but he refused because he said he loves this tumbler. He wanted to fix it instead after he got to use it for a short while and witnessed the results (round stones in 3 days, unmatched results in a rotary). It's also industrial quality, no rubber belts or thin barrels. I'm just devastated that I caused this to break and sold it not knowing that the damage I caused was big I did post pictures of the damage that I had done when I sold it.... I just didn't know it would cause the shaft to break. I'm so sorry Charles, you are one of the kindest people I've ever met and I'm going to make this right even though you asked me not to. BTW, the tumbler is built to last everything except my stupidity I am what you would call: Mechanically DECLINED!

hey tnt, just take care of the hubby and kids and just say a few prayers for me. that will be the best thing you can do. i laughed when i saw the broken tumbler. i had just fixed the lot-o i had bought from another club member. it was a really old one with the dayton motor and i had to replace the old motor shorted out. i just got that replaced that morning and was looking forward to some peace and quiet, well not quiet with 6 machines running in the garage. and went to work a few hours at the golf course and when i came home, the bd barrel was laying on the floor. God and i talk all the time. mostly me talking but He does do things that influence my life. that's what makes life fun. i still think polishing rocks is practicing for building the new jerusalem. charlie
