Spencer opal triplets: Graveyard Point plume. This one is a 30 X 40 mm and is backed with basanite. One taken inside & one outside: Thanks for looking.

Very vibrant poc! Is spencer opal mostly put into triplets and or doublets and can it be found in larger poc nods?

Spencer opal usually requires at the very least a backing so it will stay together

Seriously nice sTuff! On the Spencers, did you do their process? Thanks! On these, I actually started with a small slab that was already backed. All I had to do was cut out the bad spots, cap them with optical quartz and cab them. I've done them from scratch before and it isn't too difficult once you've got the fire cut out of the potch. These came from a small slab shaped something like the country, Chile. Thanks for all your comments!

I was just wondering, never having done triplets before and based on what you said about the opal holding together. Did you back the opal before you begin cutting?

Nice work Gary. I've been doing a lot of doublets buy haven't tried any using graveyard. After seeing yours I'm definitely going to give that a try.
