It certainly did not damage them. What is all the blue stuff? Jim

Hey, John, those came out great! Nice job. I'll second Jim's comment - what's the blue stuff? Paul

Nice looking batch John! The blue stuff looks like some of the sodalite I have going right now.

The blue is just blue quartz. In general it has not tumbled great although the color is pretty. I will post a photo of the blue from this batch.

Here is the blue rock - blue quartz. The middle one is the first piece of this that I think is half decent. All the rest so far can't take a uniform shine, they have inconsistent hardness; but in a batch they do look pretty. I think I got 5# from therockshed.com on a sale a while ago. How does sodalite tumble?

now I am thinking my blue stones are quartz too. Didnt realize rock shed sold blue quartz so it was probably from some of the mixed rock we got from there.

Thanks Mel and all,
Chuck the only sodalite I have tried was what came with my daughter's original little Lortone tumbler and it was not great material, more inconsistent than even the quartz. I'd love to find some naturally blue material that wasn't insanely expensive that took a great shine and stayed intact.

It has been a while, John! Those are some pretty rocks. I like the little hands checking out the pile in the background!

thanks all, yeah jugglerguy that is my boy Corben doing some investigating.
Now when we have friends over we always have "rock playtime" - it's a kick to see how different folks interact with a table full of shiny, multicolored stones.
