Forgot to mention that on my viberating tumbler I put the glue treated stones in after the 500 grit AO then run them through the 1000 grit AO. Checking several times for the next couple of hours. When the pits and crevices look ok they hit the AO polish that I get from the rockshed.

Hi all. I am new to this, but thought I would say a few words. I have been tumbling "gems" that I mined. When there is grit caught in the pits, I use a tooth brush and brush it out under a small stream of water. It comes out easily. Or, I tumble them longer to make the pit smooth out. My biggest problem, is that I can not get any of them to take a shine. I have run some of them through 2 complete courses....and still no shine! Any advise? Thank you

What gems are you tumbling? What polish are you using? Rotory or viberting tumbler?
Let us know.
