Well I went out looking for rock stuff again and found this neat little tumbler. I think it is about a 5 pound tumbler. It seems to work great! I can't find anything about Kiva Rock Tumblers out of Scottsdale, Arizona. Anybody have information on them? Here is a picture of the unit: Here are a couple of pictures showing the "bit" that fits into the "drive pin" of the bowl and then into the "chuck" of the motor. Here is the label:

Neat, and interesting too. Don't think I've seen direct drive on a tumbler barrel before.

The only thing I can find on Kiva Tumblers is that they were advertised in the 1960's in Lapidary Journal Magazine.Pretty old unit and in good shape for being that old. The motor looks just like those used on BBQ rotisseries! connrock

That was my thought connrock. A BBQ Rotisserie motor.

The motor looks just like those used on BBQ rotisseries! connrock That is exactly what we have been calling it...the rotisserie tumbler...After this batch, I'm going to throw on a chicken and see if it is a "multi-function" machine. Scott

Also, don't forget to insert the grill grate over your truck's exhaust manifold and throw the steaks on there before you leave on your next rockhounding trip. That way, they'll be ready by noon when you're done rockhounding.
