That looks similar to the stuff I got at Jerrys rock shop. I just broke it down this week to tumble size. Some of it was a pain to break up and there is white masses that looked like it would break down fast in the tumbler.
Thanks for mentioning it wears away fast. They are going in their own tumble batch on their own.

I didn't know you could tumble sodalite. After seeing your batch I will have to give it a try. Thanks for sharing.

Seeing you picture post makes me feel much better about breaking down my Sodalite. I have a small batch started in my 3# last night. I was a little concerned when breaking them up as there was some parts of the stone with a heavy amount of white on the outsides of the breaks. I tried to break them up purposely so the white was on the outside in hopes to break that part down when tumbled.
I'm assuming its cleavage and would not fair well being in the middle of the stone. There are some great streaks as well with similar white material that seems to crumble off.
I hope mine turns out like yours. It is an amazing stone to look at unpolished and can't wait to see it polished.

Hey stonewizard, Here's an update on the sodalite I'm working on using your tumble recipe you pm'd me. Thanks again for sending. I am at the Rockshed AO 1000 stage. Moving onto polish. This sodalite just might be my very first batch of polished stones since I started yay Photo is wet. They look a lil dull dry but I'm hoping that's where the magic of polish comes in Thanks again for your help. I love the colors and there is some really neat red spots and irradecence in some of them as well. Sent from my SPH-D710 using proboards Attachments:

Love that color blue. Nice shine too on what I understand is not such an easy rock to polish. Great job!
