Got a bunch of stuff for a ridiculous low price yesterday. There's many things that aren't in the pics, the 2 items I wanted mainly are the LS12 and the 18" Beacon Star flat lap with 4 pans. Both are in great shape. The LS12 needs a new motor cord as it is frayed and the crossfeed rod had the clip fall off and got cut off lol you'll notice the front rod on the vise. The blade is so so, will be needing a new one shortly. These are minor issues it runs well, I have a pretty well equipped metal/machine shop and truthfully I prefer imperfect stuff because of the savings. It also came with a combo unit that I know the resale value is enough to pay for the entire lot. He insisted I take all the rocks, mostly montana agates and some large chunks of not very colorful wood. I have no use for this stuff, ill probably get a bunch of smaller flat rates and sell it cheap I need this stuff like I need another hole in the head lol. So now I have 4 slab saws lol, I need a 24" ill just build one eventually but don't have time right now. I'm kinda excited about the flat lap i've never owned one, I know ill have to wash out all the pans real well.

Nice score, and the metal lathe is a big plus. You should have no problem getting rid of the Montanas.

Definitely nice stuff, make sure you put a 301 or 303c blade on that saw, with the fast feed the lortones cut a lot better with good quality sinteres blades. I recently got a Beacon Star like yours, they work nice. Looks like the pans are numbered, maybe those are the grit stages and you won't have to worry about cleaning them spotless. Nice lathe whats the specs on it and what will you use it for?

Hi, thanks for the comments. And Lee...yeah the pans are numbered they probably don't need cleaned out lol I just didn't like the fact he had the polish pan on the bottom it probably didn't get cross contaminated but you never know.
The lathe is a Grizly4003 it's a 12x36. Basically big enough to handle just about anything in a smaller shop and definetly anything lapidary related. As far as what ill do with it, mainly I am going to build lapidary equipment, which i've done in the past, and i've also recently built metal casting equipment. Slow process, but one day at a time. I'll probably design and build and sell some stuff here and there but more on a small scale type thing. I bought the lathe so I can make professional looking parts.

That's a big lathe! I inherited my dad's milling machine, it's still at his house in Farmville. Honestly I have nowhere to put it now but I'll have room for it one of these days. lol

Yeah I need a milling machine. I am going to make my own, it will be a smaller one but will do what I want.

That is a sweet lathe! I bet those floor joists were talkin when you lifted her. I picked up an old Southbend 9" and a RF-45 mill last year. Luckily the lathe was on wheels but I moved the mill with an engine hoist which was a nail biter.

LOL, I wasn't going to take a chance with the floor joist you'll notice the extra 2/x4s behind the lathe on the wall and the one propped up in front of it. This is actually the back of my barn and is an insulated area, on top of the lathe is all my rock stuff in the upstairs.
