Cool stuff! What's the stone at the bottom of the jar that looks like it's on fire?

Thanks Randy. The one in the jar is Quartz with citrine? (I'm not sure actually) I would like to do a whole batch of this kind of stone and put them in a jar to represent lightning bugs! This is the first batch I have been pleased with. I've been working at this since May of this year. I've learned so much - trial and error - mostly error - lol

What a great batch of stones! They came out beautifully and you've got a great variety going there! Now that you've got your recipe, it's time to start another. Looking forward to seeing more great results like this!!!

Looks good, congrats on a great batch!
One thing I would suggest if you aren't already doing it is running a load after polish with a little soap to get them super shiny. I do this on every load now and it really makes everything pop!

Randy, the citrine quartz came from a mixed rough batch I ordered from the Rockshed. I was more pleased with the rocks I ordered through Dad's Rock Shop though. This whole hobby started after my first rock mining trip to Sheffield Mines in Franklin, NC. I found a ruby there which I'm still tumbling - 5 months and it still isn't smooth - it is very small though. I just keep running it in every coarse run - maybe some day it will look smoother. Man am I learning patience!
