I have a bunch of schorl I want to tumble. I have enough for it to be in the barrel by itself, but they are all about the same size. I want to throw one or two larger pieces of something in there with the schorl to keep the mass from locking up.
Schorl is about 7/7.5 mohs, but is brittle. Any suggestions on what to mix in. Maybe a hunk of obsidian that I don't care about???
Appreciate any suggestions.

Duh, I should have thought of that. I have a whole flat rate box of marble from a trophy shop - broken pieces that he hadn't thrown out. I just asked for them and he gave them to me...

Not really worried about the marble - it is really bland, mostly white. But it will be good ballast for the batch. Thanks again for the idea.
