Most of the pics don't show the shine as nice as it is in person, but you see the patterns better. The first pic is flash, the rest are sunlight through a window (with a screen). Most of the stuff was already given away before I took pics-- a lot last night for Halloween. The nicest of what's left of it: Closer look: Close-ups of the Birds-Eye Rhyolite. The stuff is extremely hard to polish because it has so many different hardnesses within it. The center of the eye is especially soft and usually disappears, leaving the eye not nearly as cool as it looked in the rough. The yellowish tan ones were better than the gray ones. An unknown. Might be called some kind of jasper, but it's really rhyolite I think. Pet wood: I don't remember the name of this stuff, but I think it's Mexican and I believe there is "Red" (maybe it was Rose?) in the name. The black stuff in it is hematie.

It almost looks like organs of a body.I must learn more about that material. All i have heard is that it has soft spots making polish tricky.Looks like you soved that. That has to be the most interesting material.

Jo
I think I remember the name of the last one. First, the picture came out a bit more orange than the stone, which is actually redder. It came out of a bin of rough at a rock shop in Rochester, MN. I think the name on it was Red Laguna Agate. It was just tumbling rough, most wasn't as nice as this piece, which ain't saying much.
