Have fun and please post pics if you can of the goodies at the show, Paul. The Martin Zinn Expos had a show in Cartersville, GA that they cancelled a couple of years ago due to the lack of attendance and the economy. We sure miss it.

I went Friday. Sorry I missed you. Prices were CRAZEEE!!
Leopardskin Jasper rough at $15 a pound.... (perhaps that is OK)
1# hunk of schorl tourmaline for $1800 (available on ebay for $50 shipped)
Lapis Lazuli rough for $0.50 a gram ($227 pound!) for a 3 pound hunk. I admit it was a nice dark hunk of blue stone, but $775+ worth???
Ruby in zoisite = $0.20 gram ($90+ pound) I guess I shoulda locked up a pile at $3/lb when I had the chance.
I was a bit disappointed. I did meet another Lapis guy and a Malachite guy and a Mexico guy so all was not wasted. Maybe we can do a group buy on some of these.
Kind of a weird show, going from hotel room to hotel room. The vendors sleep with the rocks! Never seen anything like it.

Hey Buddy: Wow, yeah, those are crazy prices. Not really worth it, in my opinion, what with the club shows and such. We didn't make it out - too much going on already this weekend with sports and church.
Sorry to miss you though!

Had a show here in Orlando, FL. same days nov. 9 - 11... it was a great show scored some really nice slabs, and tigers eye for $3/pound laguna lace - $10/pound, 3 Idaho opals for a total of $4.50, fossilized whalebone from Ca. - $2.00 for a decent cab sized piece... good stuff to me!!

Mario, sounds like a good show.
This one was supposed to be high class, similar to a Tucson venue (same promotor) and the vendors, who are normal wholesale, sold retail. So they set astronomical prices to support their wholesale buyers. What it did was make me wonder what they were thinking?? $1800 a pound for schorl?? I'd love a schorl sphere, but more importantly, need to buy my daughter a car! lol
