I've not used crossbows much but was a regular bow guy for years. I liked carbon fiber arrows over aluminum. Stronger and more durable in my book. The couple of times I tried a crossbow, it was much like shooting a rifle. Seemed pretty easy to learn and they shoot relatively flat as compared to a regular bow....Mel

Don't know about crossbows, but imagine carbon is more durable than aluminum.

I had the original version of the Barnett Wildcat for a number of years. I loved it for target shooting, but it was still illegal to hunt with at the time. They didn't have carbon fiber bolts back then. I didn't like the aluminum bolts. They bent too easily. Made my own bolts out of 1/4" stainless brake line tubing. The added weight of the stainless shafts reduced the range a little bit, but really helped with penetration depth.
Like Mel said, just like shooting a rifle, with one exception. Instead of recoiling back towards you, they recoil away from you.

Interesting. They don't allow bow hunting with a crossbow here or I would be all over it. I never was good with a regular bow, I guess that's why they made me archery coach when I was a scouting leader.
