Went out to Wickenberg to hike off some turkey dinner and do some exploring, found a geode location with some unique type of geodes. There was the normal quartz lining, druzy, some with fluorite cubes and some with fiberous crystal. Some surrounding area. One of the larger pits. A friend working a new hole, found several with the fluorite cubes in their. One with the fiberous crystals. One with the fluorite cubes. Thanks for looking, Tim

very cool looking Geodes, Tim... very nice indeed. Last time I opened a geode it was solid, ... so I have it slabbed to try to do something with it.

Hi Sheri,
That is too funny, we probably drove past each other twice yesterday. I wish I would have known about the show up there, we could have rescheduled the trip to this weekend to stop by there as well. My back is tooo sore from digging yesterday, need to stay and get my back feeling better for a Burro Creek trip. :-)

That fibrous geode looks similar to a batch I found at the Potato Patch in the Wiley Well area. I've never had the crystals identified. Any idea what they are? Thanks for sharing, Lowell

Hi Lowell,
Not sure, but a little research and it looks like it maybe a erionite, an asbestos like crystal. I am waiting on a response from a geologist in our rock club.

Sorry Charlie, I would gladly send some your way, but I only brought home a handful. Next visit I will bring home some extras to hand out.
