Here's my third batch fresh out of the tumbler... hasn't been burnished as I was pressed for time, but I don't think it's necessary for these.... Unfortunately, the camera picked up a lot of small fractures/voids that I didn't see when photographing the rocks, but I'll keep them as is... I like them!! Montana & Lake Superior Mix with a few other things added. Same stuff I put in the traveling rock box (noob edition) only these are bigger... up to 2 1/2 inch material! The cracks in these were not visible when I took the photos, unfortunately, but they are still among my favorites from this batch! Lots of reds in this one camera didn't capture nice window on this one Montana Moss Thanx for looking

Glad to see you getting some batches finished up. You have some great patterns in some those. lakers are one of my favorite tumbled stones but it is so dang hard to wait for them to be pit free. I think having pits and fractures still there after 60/90 makes the batch really hard to work with due to all the trapped grit during later stages.
You can always move on to your next batch for now and re-tumble some of these at a later date, We have done that on several of our real early batches lately and have been amazed at the difference now that we have some experience (from all the help here).

I'm pretty sure I needed my sunglasses to look at these. Pretty stuff.

Chuck That's what I was thinking too... I don't have a cab grinder yet, but I recently got a 80 grit 4" wheel that I am gong to get setup s soon as I can build a cabinet for it. but until then I'll enjoy them as is.... besides I still have 22 pounds more tumbling away so i'll eventually have a bunch to rework and make that into another batch of grind & polish!!

I found a company near me that uses a lot of sch 40 6" pipe going to pay them a visit for some cut pipe they have laying around the yard, hopefully they'll sell it cheap!!

The stones have a nice shape. The small pits are a pain sometimes. You can always add some of them in your next batch for fill.

Great batch! My favorites are the one with the window and the two dark brown in the first photo at the upper left side!

yeah I just keep pushing my lakers forward into new batches, eventually they get to the point where there is something really special but they take a lot of time (months for me)
Good to see some of your batches coming out!

yeah ... at first I would get really frustrated with the batch, throw them bak into my bucket and stomp off for a soda, and do some creative army curses, them go throw the frisbee with my dog, then go back and start again... this is the first batch I didn't do it with and the 2nd batch t make it to completion... hopefully I'll have a lot more!!
