A friend asked me to cab and wrap this green stone. He didn't know what it was and I'm not sure either, but it's pretty. It's supposed to be a present for his wife. Unknown in sterling. As you can see it's a very high dome because I was trying to stay away from an imperfection in the stone when I made the cab: Amethyst in GF. This was going to be a present for my wife but she didn't like it because it was't a perfect triangle - it is supposed to be a freeform - back and bottom are concave - I was trying to get all I could out of the stone - (maybe it'll go to eBay): Both of them for size comparison: Any suggestions on how I can improve the wraps would be appreciated - I could still change the sterling one since I don't have to deliver it until Dec 14th. I hope you enjoyed the photos.

The high dome suits that particular stone perfectly!! .... and I wouldn't change the wire, it's a clean and classy look. Very nice

Oh, and the second one looks great as well. Only thing that I can maybe think of is to take a look at one of my wraps, notice how the wire barely comes over the front edge of the stone. It doesn't take much to hold the stone in place, (although the high dome probably would take a little more) and the main goal is to show off the stone while putting a delicate frame around it. Those look sweet!!

Beautiful wraps! Very clean, concise and they compliment the stones beautifully!!! I wouldn't change a thing with either them... but since you asked, is there something that is bothering you about it?

I'd guess that the green/blue stone is Turkish Chalcedony. Great job on the wraps!

Beautiful job on both of them, I wouldn't change a thing. That sterling looks great with the blue of the stone. You might tweak the bail a bit on the second one since it looks like some of the loops are a little bent but that's just being picky so I had something to say ;-)

Thanks for the comments. Randy and Diane, I have done some 'tweaking' based on your comments and the wraps are definitely nicer now.
Cathy, nothing in particular was bothering me about the wraps, but being a novice, I was pretty sure I could get some constructive comments to improve them, which I did.

Glad to help. I always like constructive comments about wraps, that's how to learn. Hearing they are good is nice too.

That's some poppin' color there! Your choice of metals is spot on. I also think you did a great job on the wraps. I, too, would say the only thing to do would be to neaten up the bail wires on the second one. But, it isn't really that bad- you asked so I nit picked.
