I got this from my mom today. I keep thinking it's a Geode, but it doesn't look like pictures I've seen on the internet. It's pretty heavy given it's size. I thought I might use one of the tile saws i have to cut it half to see what's inside if anything. Russell Attachments:

It could be. If heavy it is more likely a nodule (solid center). If it has a pronounced ridge around it cut on the ridge.

Looks like a desert rose to me, too. Should you cut the desert roses in half or leave it as a whole specimen?

I'd go with a well weathered desert rose too. Not really worth cutting, unless you want 2 pieces instead of 1.
