Another gorgeous day in the Tidewater. Had to fire up Gene. I did some work on a few that needed touch ups and got a bunch of others done. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to finish the best one- a piece of ruby in fuscite chuck full of the pinkest ruby. Maybe we'll have a few more cabbing days left this winter. Pictures don't include touched up stones or the mystery, possible pet wood, that didn't photo well. Can someone tell me--- is the first one called Denim Lapis or Chilean Lapis?? Lapis imperial jasper- I wish I had more of the rough to work with so I could center the pattern. This is pretty much the whole piece I had of this one. Belvade jasper- incredibly hard and shiny Wampidy jasper agate Tiger iron- the angle makes it look funny. Bigg's ? I think I bought this as Deschutes, but it doesn't really look like it to me. Kona Dlomite- looks best oriented the other way, but it wouldn't fit in the stand that way. My favorite, imperial jasper, much, much nicer in person. I'm gonna wrap that next. Thanks for looking

The first one doesn't look to have enough calcite/light blue to be "Denim" lapis. The piece ID'd as Biggs or Deschutes is neither, but I'm certain that it is rather Disaster Peak picture stone (southeast Oregon).
Great cabbing jobs, btw. That last red/green Imperial is my favorite, too.

Thanks I just did a google image search and I think you're spot on. I posted another one of these a while back from the same slab and they definitely look like what you say. It's very graphic stuff.

That imperial jasper is drop dead beautiful! I also really like the kona dolomite, actually I really like all of them. The Wampidy is a beautiful color.

Ok.. the Imperial is spectacular... I agree... but I'm also really liking the first Imperial as well. Nice texture in that pattern! All are beautiful!
