Bumble bee jasper slabs. I have a customer who would like me to make a set of scales for his pocket knife. It would be awesome if they were sister slabs, or at least close.
Thanks all,
TByrd

looking at all the pictures online it looks like the two are being used under the one search but a lot are agates and a lot are jasper; i'd say about half and half IMHO

this stuff looks cool but there are some important things to know.
First, it can be soft in spots and may need stabilized. Second, it may contain arsenic. Ask around before committing to this and make sure you know the risks/challenges.

Hi, Tammy: This seller on eBay has several listings for "bumblebee jasper(marble)". If this is generally what you are looking for, I think she does her own slabbing, so you might be able to contact her and see if she can prepare some sister slabs: stores.ebay.com/roughnreadyrockngems[Insert the usual disclaimer here - I have no financial or other interest in this person's operation and do not profit from mentioning it here] I have had a number of transactions with this seller and have been satisfied with the outcomes. This idea will make a very handsome pocket knife - great idea! Happy New Year, Jack

Similar story here, I buy from this guy a lot: www.ebay.com/sch/stoneclouds/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686his story is that he ended up buying all the remaining stock from Joel, who is credited with discovering and mining the bumble bee jasper: www.indoagate.com/bumblebee.htmlIndonesia, like many other small countries, is now banning the export of raw materials so you can't buy "new" rough any more, only what is left in existing supply. I was pinging Joel (indoagate) for some other agate and he gave me Gary Andrus' (stoneclouds) info. That isn't to say Gary is the cheapest, or that he is the only one with bumble bee, but he has some and he is a good seller - to me at least.

Thank you everyone. I learned a lot about this particular stone. I am not sure if this is the stone that I am going to use or not.
