Happy New Year from Torrance CA Just joined the group today. My father-in-law bought my 7 yo daughter a Lorotone barrel tumbler for her birthday in Sept. She loves the final product but is a bit turned off by the mess of tumbling. I, however, am now hooked. I have tumbled a few batched of rough I bought from the Rock Shed Many questions to follow

Have fun tumbling! Now you can go get some free rocks. Run down to the Malaga Cove on the North part of Palos Verdes.

While playing around Malaga Cove, keep your eyes open for embedded fossils.

Welcome bradjh! You will really 'dig' this forum. The greatest bunch of folks on the net, if you ask me! You may even want to get into a club and the South Bay Lapidary and Mineral Society is Very close by. Look us up. We go on field trips and have a real cool annual show, (Mar. 23rd, 24th 2013). You are more than welcome to check us out. Hope to see you there! -Chris
