In Internet slang, a troll (pron.: /ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is someone who posts inflammatory,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as a forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion Yep, off topic would describe the original post just fine...

Around here spencer opal varies. I normally pay around $50 a pound for unproven rough. The proven rough or slabs are a by the piece item depending on quality. the best way I have seen it sell is cut into small blocks so you can see the opal layers on the sides. I live close to spencer and have been on the annual digs where it costs $10 per pound for any you keep so prices here may be lower.

Guess I got a really good deal with 3/4 of a 5 gallon bucket for $16. Lots of nice flash, I will add a couple of photos a little later.

and i am not the same person who sells specimins all the time.. he has a skateboard for a profile pic I have sold 4 items since I have been on this forum and have purchased more than that OK. my bad. I'll own that. I should have noticed the avatar pic. Who knew that there could be a "Jason" and a "jason". What is really strange, if someone clicked on your username it pulled up the other Jason's profile. Yep, proboards bug. Cause, I did check. the 12x12 is a good idea. Expose the fire, and not just in cross section, if you want top value.

Just my input, I bought one of those opal filled mason jars at the Spencer Opal Mine Store (the mine is closed to the public) two years ago. It was $35 for the jar then. Jo

I was just reading this to see if you were selling it... BTW, I would not get to enthusiastic cleaning it up. I know that I included matrix in my last piece I cut and in some orientations, the matrix is important for base and stability.

I found some of this stuff at a $.50 a pound sale, bought all I could get. Trouble with this stuff is that the opal seams are VERY thin and it takes a lot of work to get the opal out.
