i will probably be flying into phoenix 3 or 4 times over the next 3 or 4 months....then renting a car...no 4 wheel drive....and heading down i-10 thru Tuscon and on towards the Mexican border....i wont have a lot of time each trip...arrive in phoenix on Friday....and leave phoenix Sunday each trip...no hammers or picks or anything like that with me.
so...anywhere to surface collect along this route...anything cool to see...doesn't have to be rock related.
i seen the other Arizona thread...but everything went in the opposite direction...kev.

Two places I like to go to every time I'm in Tucson...Discount Agate House (lots of rough at great prices), and for some great Mexican food go to Mi Nidito restaurant. The food there is to die for. Always a thirty minute wait, but well worth it.

If your interested in American Indian dwellings and have couple hours to kill in Phoenix the Pueblo Grande Museum home to the HoHoKam is a must see its just stone throw from Sky Harbor
As a matter of fact as your landing or flying out to the north-east side of Sky Harbor you might notice the landmarks There is a huge dirt mound and primitive housing structures
If Mexican food is your delight 'don Jose' is not far from Sky Harbor I was always amazed how the Mexican cuisine differs between the 2 cities of Tucson & Phoenix two different styles
