your attachment has an unknown format ending... you may need to change it to eother a JPG or HTML, but jpg1.htmlsort3o0 is not a recognized format.

I tried changing the format, but the file is marked as possibly corrupted.

Don't click on the attachment, click on the link in the first line. Worked for me, although I sure didn't see a seahorse?! Jean

Okay yeah I just figured how to use the photobucket ... sorry for the confusion. also I should have given a clue it is hard to make out but look at the very center where it looks like a snail shell curl... follow that up and look carefully the nose is pointing left near the top of the chunk...( I think .. )it is harder to see in this pic also..

There's something in there, I'm not sure if it is a seahorse but it really looks like a tail. Here is it:

Yes that is the easiest part to make out, now if you can follow that up along the ridge that is making that shadow it gets harder to make out in the middle but at the very top edge of that zoomed in pic. There is a head looking off to the left.. maybe I can try better lighting the shadows make it even harder than it already is to see it... So I assume that they fossilize fairly well? I was unsure about how similar it looks to shell in the same stones. I have never held a dead one or know if it would have very many hard bits to make a very noticeable fossil..

This is so full of sea life that it still smelled like dead critters ...I bleached it that helped you would think millions of years of weather would have taken care of it.... Attachments:

I think what you have is a very porous, most likely sedimentary rock of some sort, covered with recent sea life, ie., tube worms and lots of other critters down in the nooks and crannies that are now dead - hence the smell. Don't think you have a fossilized seahorse there. The curl looks more shell-like than the body of a seahorse. Jean

Cool thanks for help, I found it in my old stuff and just wasn't sure if I was using my imagination to much. I have more material from there and some has lots and lots of spiral shells..and many other bits of broken shell.
