the nice thing about beach rocks that you select yourself is that they start out attractive to you and get better with tumbling. You have some good looking specimens and need not apologize for your effort. The shine is there and they are your products. Congratulations. Tom

True enough Tom and they can always go back in the vibe for some more love - though I have also learned that you really can turn spectacular rocks into fairly average sand as well I may try to get some more photos in the sun tomorrow..most of the rocks actually look a lot nicer than the photos reflect... The thing that I like is that they really do look wet. I didn't quite believe I would have any come out that way Roger

I think they look great.. as good or better than anything I have done so far!! When I d the burnish I use hot water and borax and I, too, have forgotten to clean out the polish... but not to worry about it, the borax is a detergent and will make it harder to for more polish to stick, and they will come out slightly sticky, but really aren't they are just so clean at this point that your skin doesn't slide over the stones as well, but once they dry, they are amazing!!!! I now use the Borax and hot water every time I burnish, and try to clean out before, but I always get good results when I burnish!! Gratz on a job well done!!!

Wow, that's some shine you got on them! Don't be so hard on yourself, I think they look great, too! Jean

I admire anybody tumbling rocks through the final stage. I don't have the patience, and I don't like the constant noise. Good job!

They look very nice to me. A couple photography tips, not that I'm any kind of pro at it:
1. Use more light. Put the rocks in bright window light, or better yet, direct overhead sunlight, and use a flat black background, not white.
2. Use the "edit" feature in Photobucket. The choice is in the menu bar at the top. Experiment until you get the hang of it - use one of these photos to try it. "Contrast" is probably going to give you the most dramatic improvement.

Thanks all. I look at all the beautiful stones posted here and I know mine don't stack up,yet. I will try to take some better photos and try the photo bucket tools. Those photos really are terrible..and that camera.. Appreciate the encouragement

I see nothing to apologize for! Great shine on everything. I run my vibe as dry as possible in each stage including polish. Quite a few times instead of rinsing before the final burnish I just add a bowl completely full of good warm Borax mix and let it run for a half hour or more before a final rinse. A quick wipe with a cotton cloth to dry them seems to do a little something for the shine.
