made a light box.. still think my light is too harsh... trying it out. velvet turquoise lapis chrysoprase sold as turquoise but i think variscite thats it... thinks for looking

You know what? I don't like lapis but I love that cab!!! Nice selection here and if you can make me use the "L" word in the same sentence as lapis, you are really doing good! Great job! Cathy

I think your images are great. I still am struggling to get good pics and I have won a contests for taking pics of coins before. Cabs are tough

Try a light diffuser in front oh you camera to lessen the hot spots. Good luck! It's tough.

i will size the pictures down a bit too but i could try diffused flash for front lighting Trust me i am a noob noob noob

I think your pictures look pretty good. There is a fine line between too much glare and not enough in order to catch the shine. It normally takes me longer to get a good picture of a cab than the time it took to cut it.

Nice work and nice pictures.
What kind of tent are you using? The pics really don't look bad. Maybe a few harsh spots, but all in all, not bad. Whatever material you are using for the tent, maybe it needs to be thicker. Plus, your background is bouncing more light too.

Ok for my :2cents: worth the white background needs to be replaced with a solid dark color. Auto-focus cameras will try to focus on anything in the range. We actually had a thread here before with different backgrounds used for samples. Black background made the details and colors stand out much better as voted on by members.
