Normally it wouldn't be hard to tell the difference between the two, but I can't on this one. The picture of the rough is, unfortunately, the back half I haven't slabbed yet. The front half was orangy (not desert varnish) and gemmy looking like a Carnelian, if that makes any sense. However, when I slabbed it, it looks like a typical Montana. Any ideas?

Agree with Don. Doesn't look right for Montana, including the dendrites/moss.

I have some Montana with orbs similar to those, but it can be split in layers with the orbs between the layers.

The outer rind isn't right for a Montana. That's what I thought. Montelian or cartana sound about right to me. Can I get it trademarked? ;D
