This is maybe a little tougher than pure quarts ...tried a crystal and a pure white chunk and don't see a mark. Made me wonder coz years back my geology teacher got excited about a serpentinite stone I got from the Great sand Dunes area. The only thing I showed him that got a reaction really..he took it to get looked at somewhere even.. Attachments:

Kinda looks like serpentine. After for info on the Great Sand Dunes area, I read that it was found there. ??

serpentine is NOT tougher than quartz.
