Went to the Deming Rock Show in New Mexico and came back with thirty pounds of Walker Ranch agate slabs. The WR is located right next to the Woodward Ranch and is only separated be a fence so these agates are all quite the same as the WWR rocks. You really can't tell the difference. Since I mostly like to tumble, that is what I will be doing with them. I will be going through them and picking out the best ones in order to cab them. Here are a few pics. Here are all of them shown together. The whole pile is about seven inches high and filled three gallon sized baggies. These are leveled out and shown wet after I sprayed them with water. Here are a few placed in a clear glass baking dish covered with water. Thanks for looking. Condor

Hi Condor,
When you tumble your smaller slabs, are you using a rotary or a vibe? I have done some small slabs in a vibe and I notice that they like to "stack" on each other, as many as 4-5, like Sunday's pancakes. Now maybe they separate as they go around, but it's hard to tell when they are covered with slurry. Do you have a solution for this, or do you use a rotary tumbler which may be the solution, instead of the vibe?

What I've done before is gone with 60/90 in the rotary. From there I switch to the vibe but add tiny, tiny pieces of fillers such as agates. This helps prevent them from sticking together though a few still do. Condor
