Just took these out of the loto- pretty much a mix, some desert jaspers, ohio flint, some small pet wood etc. Thanks for looking Bill Whole batch Some desert jaspers Some hearts Anyone help me out on what this is? It has some type of metallic content and although it didn't photograph well it is really cool and reflective Thanks for looking Bill

Nice variety. I like the snow-capped volcano. In the last one, the unknown, by metallic do you mean like hematite, or do you mean it has sparkle like pyrite or flecks of mica? Is the white quartz, or agate?

Thanks everyone for the nice comments Dan- the black parts are really metallic looking . Like tin foil appearance. I profess to not knowing much about rocks but once you mentioned hematite it made some sense. The whitish parts look quartzy to me. I am posting a pic of a slab fragment it was cut from. Attachments:

Bill,
Looks like hematite to me. I've seen hematite in a lot of different kinds of rock, including quartz. All I've seen is very dark, and often doesn't appear that metallic until it's shined, and then you have to turn it in the light just right to see it. Unpolished it looks more like pencil lead.

Dan
You described it to a tee. Thank you. Always learning something from this board. Basic information to people on this board is often new information to me.
Thanks again / and thank everyone for the kind words
Bill
