Hello all. Found this piece along the California Central Coast and has been tumbled to pre-polish. I discovered these really small glitter/gold flecks. Is this pyrite in jasper? This post includes 2 pictures. Attachments:

Probably pyrite. If you have a loupe or strong magnifying glass, look at them and see if any are square.

Yup, I'm with Jake, pyrite/marcasite inclusions are pretty common in jasper....Mel

Yes, but if your piece is showing golden specks, it's likely pyrite.
