Glad you enjoyed the poster, Karen! I only sent the pics to Joanne, the work is hers. If I would had made it, I'd had magnified the pic in the top right ;D
Your place here is so deserved, I think. Your long distance journey to meet us says a lot about the spirit of this board.

I am stunnedI am on this forum EVERY DAY and somehow I missed this thread. I think it was hidden from me so I would not see that my painted face had been posted. Shame on who ever did that. You have done an incredible job here Jo and thank you for adding me to the list. I can not imagine how many hours you spent putting it all together. I hope you do not mind or take offense if I post another one of my talents that was not included in the collage. I was instrumental in getting the carving section started and carving is really my best and favorite stone talent. Here are a few that I am quite proud of. Dragon and fairy Solar flare Fairy My signature carvings are mushrooms If this is inappropriate in any way please let me know and I will take it down. Thank you Jim

Wow Jo! This is AWESOME! You have put so much work into this!! I went through each photo and the memories came running back! I miss some of our older members and wonder where they have gone. I miss Cher! I know she has the very best cabbing machine up in Heaven! She has better rocks than any of us can ever imagine! Thank you Jo! Hope to see you in Q this year!!

HAPPY 10 ANNIVERSARY! I can remember first being on here when it started a long time ago...how is everyone doing? Great I hope! I am getting back into my rocktumbling hobby after being away from it for a few years. I am excited to get my tumblers tumbling and my rock saw sawing. Everything looks so different here. I am going to have to take some time to find my way around here. In the mean time I would love to view all your beautiful rocks and pictures!

Hey Nature Nut It's been a long time. I do recognize all those names on top. Some of the newer ones I don't. I've been gone a while but I'm back. I used to be llana or llanago - can't remember, also couldn't remember my old password, so I just joined again with a new name. Glad to be back and boy, the place has grown! I don't remember how many were here when I joined, just know it wasn't near as many as now. Well, I'm off to explore all the threads and catch up on several years of being gone.
Didn't the forum start around 2002 or before. I think I joined in Jan of 2003 or 2004.

All - I think it's time to retire this post by turning off the 'sticky' and letting it fade into memory.
Reason #1, it was topical and dated - member NatureNut was creating photo collage tributes to contributing members. As far as I can tell that ship has sailed and this member doesn't come on much.
Reason #2, all of NatureNut's photos are broken by photobucket and it's WAAAY too many for me to deal with trying to fix manually.
Any objections?

Well... I started feeling nostalgic so I went back and fixed all the photos anyway. Still unstickying it though.

Tommy It was a great post! It would be even better if updated to current times. I won't volunteer, though. How old are we now? You know what would be cool? What if after a member achieved a certain post level, they were included in a new post about members? Include a few pics or screenshots to highlight their time here. Hmmm..... I think I'll think about this.

Sorry for the slow reponse - the creation date on the forum is Mar 9, 2003 so we will turn 15 in March. Not sure what that would look like but it sounds like fun. I still wish I would have gotten more folks excited about remaking the "ranks" thing - I think maxing out at 10k posts is an idea that came and went a looong time ago. We need new ranks, just haven't been able to pull it together yet.

Suppose I should first mention that this is an old post about an even older thread, lol. Tommy It was a great post! It would be even better if updated to current times. I won't volunteer, though. And thank you for fixing all the links after the PB fiasco. I have it bookmarked, and love to come back and reminisce as time permits. Nice to see the faces, even if they no longer come here, and the beautiful work they have done. And you finally have new ranks, YAY! It took you less than a year and a half, and that was even with you moving to Napa during that time. I'm impressed!

Yes it's a great thread - I just get a bit sad that there is really no way to continue it without an enormous undertaking that none of us are up to. Just speaks volumes about the OP and the time they spent and attention to detail. Glad you like the ranks - does this mean I have to stop taking you for granite now? dag nabbit!

Tommy , was wondering how long before you noticed that, lol. Actually, when you changed the ranks, that was when you quit taking me for granite .
What I really want to know is, what does the color of the stars signify?
ETA - I will be on hold at this rank for almost 1390 more posts, ha!
