My best friend dog Cody (breed American Eskimo) died of cancer a couple of years ago. Tonight my beloved indoor cat Tessa (breed Ragdoll) snuck out into the garage while we were doing spring cleaning and organization of the garage. I wasn't worried about it because she does that quiet often, can't stand to be more than 10 feet away from me. She's also the type of cat that if a rain drop hits her on the head she bolts back indoors like the sky is falling. Well, after we finished up our work, shut the back door and the garage door, I just assumed she was back inside snuggled safely into one of her hiding spots sleeping soundly as usual. An hour or so later a quick storm hit that only lasted for 30 minutes or so. For the last 6 years at almost exactly 6'o clock sharp she shows up in the kitchen rubbing on anyone's leg that she can get at. We give her a small spoon of tuna every night as a special treat to her dry food diet. She hasn't missed a day in 6 years. Tonight though.... she wasn't there. I panicked and started walking through the house calling her name. She always runs to me when I call her.... tonight......nothing. Fear set in as she does NOT know how to be an outdoor cat, she's a wimp and even prissily picks her paws up in wet grass. I got in my car and drove around the neighborhood to make sure she didn't get hit by a car, found nothing. When I got home, my daughters and I walked the neighborhood calling her name listening intently for her meows.... nothing. I am working on posters tonight but my eyes are getting blurry from tears so I decided to take a break and post here. I can only look at her picture for so long before fearing the worst. I called AVID the place that owns her microchip and they told me that if she is ever scanned, we will come up as her owners. Until then, I can only hope she snuck into someone's garage or other place and got temporarily trapped. If she doesn't show up by morning then the girls and I will be hanging posters within a 5 mile radius. Poor Tessa, she must be as scared as we are tonight. I'm just sick though.... I love her so much. Last week: And with Cody: Help me pray for her safe return please! I would appreciate it more than you know!!!!!!!

Sooo...My Siamese, Curie, disappeared today too! We found her stuck in a snow bank. Got to love those survival skills. I hope Tessa makes her way home soon.
They may be indoor pets, but they are resilient. My DLH got locked out of the house when we went out of town for three days. The three legged one. We came home and didn't know anything was wrong until she didn't greet us when we walked in. I then noticed the weather stripping was tore up. We went in and checked the security camera footage and it was the saddest thing ever. A couple hours after we left she came back and sat on the car begging to be let in. She hung around the house the first day, appearing on camera occasionally. The second and third days there was no sign of her. We walked the neighborhood for hours shaking treats and calling her (she comes when called better than our dog.) she came wandering back later that night and was sooooo clingy.
I hope you are cuddling yours soon.

Oh Krystee, you're getting lots of prayers and wishes from CA! Ragdolls are so sweet, I'm sure she'll show up soon. Getting stuck in someone else's garage sounds very likely.
Geoff, she looks so unhappy in that picture! I can hear her thinking, 'Just get me out of here already!'

Kristee I am so sorry to hear about your missing cat. My dog escaped from the back yard when the gardener didn't close the gate. It turned out that he was arrested on his own property by the dog police. A neighbor reported him to the police thinking he was a stray. I had to bail him out of doggy jail. Another time in a different house the gardener also left the gate unlocked and again my Dalmation along with my Lab escaped. We were up 24 hours straight looking for them. We had front row tickets to see the Rolling Stones and we had to give them away. All we were able by that time was pray as we contacted all of the local police departments. Then sure enough we got a call from the police of a town about 5 miles away. Our dogs were found crying in a persons backyard. You cat will turn up don't worry about it I will pray for you. Also I will get you a link to a really cool product. I saw it at the Verizon store. It is a GPS for pets. They wear it on their collar and you can track them to within 5 feet. Better than a chip as it does not have to be scanned.

I am so sorry to hear your girl is missing and am hoping she'll be back with you soon. I just got my puppy microchipped and am glad I did but will check out that pet GPS. Lost furry friends are so heartbreaking.

Thank you everyone for all of the good wishes/prayers! She's home!!!! My husband got up at 5:30 this morning and found her meowing at the back door. We have no idea where she was, she appears just fine, no injuries or anything, and I am sooooo relieved!!!! I think she is too as she is laying on my desk beside my computer right now, purring up a storm Her collar and tags are going back on her today and I will really have to watch her now that she has tasted the freedom of the dangerous outdoors. I'll look into that gps thing too. Sounds kinda neat if it isn't bulky. Geoff, SOOOO glad you found Curie! Poor little baby looks miserable stuck there

I'm glad everything turned out okay. Cats are amazing; I've lost them a few times only to find out that they visited all the neighbors complaining that I didn't feed them enough, and then came back home.
