I'm trying to influence the next generation by doing a rock polishing cycle in my classroom! It's part of my 'erosion' unit, and recreating the natural wear on rocks, right? ;D
I have my old 45+ year old tumbler that still works, and I've been using it to polish jewelry, but it's going to school, all I need are the grits!
Can someone sell me enough for one cycle? Pm me!

what size tumbler barrel do you have? how long are you going to let the first stage of 60/90 run for?
the last 3 stages are easy to figure since they are only done one time but that first stage is trickier to figure out the amount for so if you have a time frame you plan on running that would help.

Hi Chuck,
It's a small 3# barrel. I have no idea how long, but I only have 7 weeks or so left of school, so I was planning 1 week each stage. I have lots of slabs I'm going to cut up to put in, with a few rocks I have about. I don't have enough rocks to fill it, but lots of giveaway slabs I can cut up.
I found a container I had marked #1 and another marked 'Polish' so I'm thinking I just need a #2 and #3?

Thanks Chuck!! I have 24 munchkins. We're also raising silkworms, and I have them 'spin' it, and so I thought I'd glue on a cap after they each choose one, and they can wear it for the end of school momento.

Hi D,
PM me your address and I will send you a tumbling recharge kit I somehow inherited. I think it has all the grits and some findings for the stones.

Dee, I can also send you some grit if still needed. There may be some "packing materials" in the box as well Steve

Hi Tim, I'll gladly take the recharge kit! Sounds perfect. Thanks too, Steve and Chuck, it sounds like Tim's kit will do the job. Lol, rockhounds have the BEST packing material, why do people use anything else?

Rock folks are the BEST!!! Thanks to Tim, we're set to start our rock unit this coming week!! Look at the goodies he sent me: And a close up of the rock to fill the tumbler up with! I'll attack it with my workforce this weekend. The students are going to LOVE the geodes he sent too! Thank you, thank you Tim! What a great way to close out a school year!

Hi Diane,
I am glad you like it, I hope the kids like the goodies as well. Good luck with the tumble, I hope there is enough media to complete the job, I never opened the box so I had no idea how much grit was in there.
Have fun,
Tim

I weighed the little packet that came in the recharge kit. It's about 1/2 ounce. Is that enough for one round with my 3# barrel lortone?
