Photobucket is playing games again... The photos should come up when PhotoBucket comes back online...
Okay, I don't know if this is really the place for this or not??? After checking it out, it looks like the ID topic is for rocks that have already been ID'ed?? And the slabs and saws topic is for ones I've cut myself??? So where does one put slabs that have been purchased? Well, I'm putting them here!
Here's a bunch of slabs (half of them, anyway) that I picked up at the show in Vista last Saturday. Some I know, some I don't. Feel free to chime in with ID's. Thanks! Enjoy!
1. Dino bone, all three pieces
2. Nice reds
3. Something different, pastels and blues. This is the larger one on right in pic 1.
4. The littlest one. Athough I purchased these from different vendors, all three were identified as dinosaur bone by another vendor that was selling dino bone exclusively.
5A. Mexican Palm Agate (Thanks for the ID, Beef!)
5B.
5C.
6. Pink dendritic? This one is a little thin... but still, it's got great color and pattern.
7. Petrified woods
8. Shrinkwood??
9. Slab on left - had originally thought it was dumorteorite on first look...
10. ...but it has filaments??? More blue, like in the first photo (not as purple as this photo makes it appear).
11. Gary Green (aka Larsonite, petrified bog) Jasper
12. Palm bog - can't quit picking up more of this stuff!
13. Nice rainbow obsidian, this is from fellow RTH member, Charles Kuchar. This is some nice stuff, Charlie!! Should have gotten more than just one slab... You might want to PM him and see if he still has more...
14A. Varisite?
14B.
15A. Trent Agate, a couple of slabs (And thanks again, Beef!)
15B.
15C.
15D.
15E. Googled "Trent Agate" and found out that it is found in Trent, OR (natch!). Here's a link to some info I found online - www.sailorenergy.net/Minerals/MLAgates/MineralAgatesTrentAgate01.html Interesting!
And lastly, some purple botroidal chalcedony? Makes me think of grapes!
This is about half of what I bought, spent a total of $35 - what a deal! Thanks for looking... again! Jean
