The devastation is unreal.
I feel so bad for anyone living in Moore or anywhere inn the path of this storm. The force of nature is hard to imagine.
God bless anyone in the area and I hope it does not happen again

Man, I agree with you on that. I have relatives in Yukon right near Oklahoma City and I've had to run for shelter before when visiting them. Very scary stuff and my heart goes out to those who have lost loved ones or homes and possessions and I sure hope they don't have to go through that again anytime soon.....Mel

I agree... so terrible. And the victims were mostly children.

Sad in the nth degree. Completely avoidable.
It proof of government failure.
They did not have a proper storm shelter. We are required to entrust the safety of our children to the state. The state built the school. The state neglected to put in a storm shelter. The reason given?
"It is not required".
Those children died as a result of the state not following common sense and only following "what is required". FAIL.
Even so, that being the case, should storm shelters be a requirement for every school in that region? Seems so. Either way... FAIL.

Sad indeed, but glad to see the numbers are lower than thought. (24 total) That however, is little comfort to the families of those who died. "The death toll was lower than initially feared, but nine children were among the dead, including seven who died at Plaza Towers Elementary School, which took a direct hit on Monday in the deadliest tornado to strike the United States in two years." uk.reuters.com/article/2013/05/21/uk-usa-tornadoes-idUKBRE94J0TJ20130521
