Hi all, I picked one up this morning and could not be happier. One does tend to get a bit wet after a hour or so of using it. It's a good thing. I cut a number of different stones and all worked well but the sodalite had a tendency to break when cut thinner(about 1/4 inch) Is that it's nature, my stuff or I am doing something wrong? Thanks in advance. Me.

The hardest thing about the workforce is holding the rock steady. Any twist whatsoever can break the slab. You also need to be sure not to force the rock through the blade. This was hard for me when I first started. I went through three blades in the first week. lol, now I can make one last for a month! One more thing, try sitting behind the saw and cut by pulling the rock toward you. It'll take about 45 seconds to get used to it. ;D You'll never get wet!

I also cut from the back. I took a cheap plastic bucket, about the width and smaller then the length of the top, cut one side out and clamped it on top. I work through the open side and almost no water ends up any place but on the WF table top......MrP

Congrats on the new toy, have fun! I tried cutting backwards and it was too weird, couldn't do it.

What about cutting from the side? That's what I do. Much drier!

I like the water. Maybe I'm weird but I love going out to play in the rain. In the Summer I can cut and get cooled off at the same time. It will be better that running through the sprinklers as a kid!

Puppie you're so smart...! I've tried cutting from the back too.. can't do it. When I cut shapes I get right over the top of the work.. partly to see the work better and partly because I have better control of the cut that way... I wear a plastic apron too June! I bet if I had started out cutting fron behind it wouldn't be a problem but switching now would be hard....
Congrats on the new work force Wiz! ..Are you on the list yet?

I work from the back also. One of the more important things I found is to make sure it is at a height so you are comfortable, My cuts improved dramatically once I brought it up higher.
