Hi Everyone, I am looking for some honest opinions, I'd like to know what everybody thinks of this slab. Its a new find and we think it might be a good one. Its quartz based so it will polish up like liquid. Please leave a comment if you have time. Thanks a bunch!

Looks great should make some nice cabs or if you are going to polish the slab it will be an outstanding piece.

Honest opinions always seem to get me in trouble here but I'll jump right in again!! LOL
As you know it's difficult to judge any material from a photo but one can judge a person's character and reliability much easier from ones past experiences with them.
That being said, judging from the photo's I would say it's very nice material and it looks solid except for the red areas which to me look pitted and kind of take away from the beauty of it as one works it to it's final "destination".
Do I like it? Yes.
Would I buy it? From "you ",yes,,,,from an Ebay seller,,,,dunno??
I think the best way for all of us to see if it's any good is for you to send about 20lbs of it to each of us and then we'll letcha know!!!! LOL ;D ;D ;D

It is interesting. I am always looking for scenes, so the one on the right draws my eye more. The one on the left looks a lot like marble from inside a church or something on a countertop.
The red areas ruin the scene though. So, I guess my perception of the value is still in the air, and would be in how the claim played out.

Well rather than have a long post, I will say I totally agree with Connrock. I have a lot of rock with red spots like that, and I have a lot of trouble with it. Working around the red it would make a great Dolphin. Terry

The slabs look great! I don't know what the red areas would do but I think the stone is real nice. Maybe send some to Ed for a cabbing test.

Is the dark area greenish or blackish? Looks green in the photo. I agree..the red areas do distract from the overall look of the slab...but.....it depends on what you are using it for. If the red areas are smooth it should be ok. My impression of athe slabs are...I like it. Seems to me I have seen this stuff before but don't recall where or when.

Jumping on board with Connrock too- I worry about the red areas- but you have been very honest, generous, and knowledgable with us! So from you- I would buy it.

The dark areas look black on my monitor so I'm thinking maybe a manganese inclusion in the white quartz. If the black is highly silicified and doesn't undercut it would be a nice stone, expecially if the black has a metallic sheen when polished kind of like Siskayou Stone. I'd worry a bit about the red areas undercutting too but if they didn't it would certainly add interest to the material. Those specimens are certainly similar to Siskayou and it has always been popular material here so I'd certainly say your new stuff has potential......mel

I like it, but how about tumbling some up or polishing it and letting us know if it undercuts. Its pretty in the picture as is

Well I'm a hands-on kind of guy, so send me a slab and let me get my hands on it and cab it up and I'll let you know! ;D ;D Seriously, it looks like Zebra agate and that stuff takes a great shine.

Hi Brian, No not the Mazatzals, actually much closer to home, behind Lake Pleasant. Ed, I will send you a slab or two and you can cut some cabs, although........That won't really be a fair evaluation either because you could cut up a bowling ball and make it look like an emerald. LOL Conrock, you are probably right about some of the brown spots, I did polish one end of one of the slabs and red and brown polished right along with the rest of the stone.
