..."Pillow case 95% removed but FAST."
Hmm - that does sound like a better way in terms of the amount of time required! I'm goona go out into the garage and see if I can't dump my paper sludge bags into a pillow case and see if the oil might filter through faster. There's probably at least a gallon maybe 2 that I'd rather not have to replace. C-ya, Rick

I guess i'm lazy I just empty it into a 5 gallon bucket and let it settle and pour most of it back in and throw the rest out I don't care to screw around with it.

Yeah, I reckon that'd be fastest but I'm needing to save $$ wherever I can - out of work due to Congress and the Fiscal Cliff/Sequester since they couldn't bother themselves to do actually WORK for their $$ and get it figured out. C-ya, Rick

I have a small saw so I only filter less than a gallon of oil at a time. I have my paper bag, lunch size thank you , in a 2 liter coke bottle as a holder sitting on top of my catcher, a tea pitcher with a hole in the top lol. I have noticed that after a while, week maybe more, that free oil separates and I can just pour it off the top. I wonder if you could take something cylindrical, maybe the size of a 2 liter coke, we call all pop coke here in Louisiana heh, or whatever and dump in that waste sludge after it has filtered for awhile and just let it sit and separate. There would be no filtration, but the oil could be reclaimed nonetheless and you would not have to worry about it being in the way of any new gunky oil that you would want to filter...just a thought.
