While I'm not totally in agreement with this individual's post, he does bring up a few good points. I have no particular opinion on this matter as I've not done enough research at this point. I do find hard-core environmentalists irritating, though. I will make that much of a provocative statement. knoxville.craigslist.org/pol/3746100243.htmlSee for yourself. Paul

The comments on this article from the readership were pretty interesting and informational. The wildlife biologist apparently understood what the eco-nazi's didn't. Thanks for adding to the thread.

They do totally ruin the landscape. Butt ugly big ole machines and if you're close to them, they ain't quite either. They do kill a lot of birds but statistically, actually per kilowatt, are less damaging than most other power generating sources ( or so the advocates claim). I'm not so sure about that myself but I think this date comes from how much environmental damage is done to wildlife by oil spills or coal mining.....mel

Such new technology, like harnessing the methane from wastewater treatment. Funny that when I did my 5th or 6th grade science project in my home town the local plant I did my report on, built in the 50's did exactly that, a standard design developed during WWII to conserve energy so it could be used for manufacturing. Also interesting how natural gas that is released by fracking is suddenly "clean" when used in a fuel cell.

Oil companies are subsidized continually.
Just think of all the money that can be made by recycling the metal in those things. Plus the jobs created by dismantling them.
Like Mel said. I get a picture in my mind of the birds killed by the Exxon Valdeze spill. I think it was in the tens of thousands and that does not include the fish and other animals.
There is S--t on both sides of the fence but either way we are killing our planet whether the brownies or blackies (not sure what to call them) believe it or not. Jim

Jim... not getting the reference to brownie or blackie. Does the 'brownie' refer to Nazi Sturm Abteilung, or 'brown shirts', and the 'blackie' refer to the SS, who were known as the 'blackshirts', or did you mean baked goods containing chocolate:)?

Chocolate does sound good. Damn, now I am going to have to drive to the Dairy Queen
Ok, we have greenies on one side so there must be brownies or blackies on the other side because that is where our planet is headed. Next time I will be more Pacific. Jim

Jim Waste tax payer money building these eye sores and then waste more dismantling them. Sounds good if your a liberal. Yep shovel ready alright. Around 40,000 birds died in the Exxon spill. At the end of 2012 there were 225,000 turbines spinning in 79 countries worldwide. www.globalwindday.org/faq/how-many-wind-turbines-are-there-in-the-world/If a turbine only kills 1 bird every 10 days. That would be 675,000 dead birds a month world wide. That is equal to 16.9 Exxon spills a month. Where are the eco-nuts now?

Don, I totally agree. The Bloomberg article Forbes refers to was completely editorial misconduct. Thank you.
