Had to pick out a special stone do on my one special day of the year. I ended up choosing Mexican Marcasite in Quartz that I got from Michael Hoover. I have never cabbed this stone before and it blew my mind. It turned into a mirror!!!!!! Wowzers what a metallic material!!!!!!!!!! I did the best I could getting pictures. Most just look like a mirror though, LOL! Blue back ground shows a little bit of the inclusions And back side of the cab...... this actually shows what the original cab looked like before doming, but the front side had more marcasite.

Those cabs are so cool and beautiful ! Just up the road from Sand Hill where I live is found limonite cubes that have lost their sulfur from pyrite. One guy in the club cabbed a few and not all the sulfur leached out once he started to cab them and the cabs are mirrored like the marcasite and brown to red on the limonite part of the cab.

Krystee, with all the cabs you make, why aren't you wearing one in the picture?
I guess that proves just how well polished it is! Freekin' mirror!

Oh my god I think I just broke my jaw when it dropped and hit the floor. That is one beautiful cab. Life seems to be pulling me in every direction but the direction to my rock pile and cab station. It has been so long since I had a chance to work with my rock I hope I still remember how to make a cab. Stu
