I know there are a few keen people would like to know more about rocks. Not having done this course, I can't really vouch for it, but other things I've done on Coursera have been great. So if you'd like to know more about the volcanic side of things then you could do worse than check out www.coursera.org/course/volcanoSee you there?

nice! I wish they did them self guided. They do them scheduled and I can rarely attend on a regular schedule.

Yeah, I'm with you on that, Shotgunner. I was annoyed to 'flunk' a statistics course having scored highly for all but the very last week which I didn't make.
However, if you sign up and go to the video lectures page, right-click the downward pointing arrow (Video - MP4) and save as then you can harvest the course materials - so long as you're not too bothered about officially being seen to have done the course.
I did that for a guitar course which again I couldn't make the necessary commitments recently then I just set my son & daughter to watch one now and again.
