This was sold to me as cinnamon stone. It cuts nice, and has the look and texture of marble. Thanks for any help. Terri

Looks like cinnabar in marble. There's an agate that looks just like that out of Nevada called Red Devil Agate which is cinnabar in white chalcedony but of course, it's a very hard material...Mel

Thanks Mel!! Just what I was looking for. This is not a chalcedony....Marble is about what I expected, but couldn't find it any where.

Cinnabar is an ore of mercury. I just won a nice piece on ebay with little beads of mercury showing. Not radioactive, but don't lick it, and wash your hands after handling it.

Isnt cinnabar radioactive like as in uranium? What is yellowcake? Ho, cinnabar is not radioactive. It is mercury sulfide. Yellow cake is refined concentrate made by the leaching of of uranium. It is radioactive.

OK.... Thanks everyone!! Mysteries solved. Not radioactive, Cinnabar in Marble, do not eat it, and may want to wash my hands now.....because it may contain a little Mercury. lolol!! I learned a bunch!!
