I kinda messed this one up. When the volume on the quartz went down I mixed them with agates and got some cracks and chips where they didn't have any before. Should of went with ceramic filler instead.......Ah well lesson learned. There is also some small, already polished river pebbles (agate?) that I added to the polish barrel for volume pictured as well. Otherwise I felt like there would have been too much plastic. Rough is from the Rock Shed and was a good mix of sizes ready to tumble. The batch Something a little closer A few of the larger pieces The blue "flash" in this one changes color from yellow to red to blue depending on the orientation, which I thought was pretty cool

That can be a difficult material to tumble but you did a great job. I really enjoy seeing your tumbles, thanks.

I run sensitive rose quartz with agate. The rose quartz rounds much faster like those rutilatated quartz do. To keep the rose quartz from frosting I keep the barrel over 3/4 but less the 7/8 full and use no ceramic or plastic. Rose quartz will sure frost if it is impacting hard.
I run a few rose quartz in every load of agate/jasper/coral to see if the load caused it too frost. As a monitor. In the faster coarse grind tumbler I often want the load to run a little more violent and will take some rocks out till the rose quartz does frost a bit. The agate rarely frosts.
Looks like your system needs no improvement. Those are beauties.

Fine batch. Always like to see rutilated quartz.
