Wow, that petwood is beautiful and the red is very unusual. Looks like an eye from a Jurassic era predator! All are very nice. Thanks for sharing!

The rings are looking real good, Jean! I need to muster up the gumption to try that wrap!

I like the look of the tristed wire in these. It gives them some sparkle and flash. The pet wood is especially nice.

Thanks, Mark, Donnie and Rich! The red pet wood stone is my favorite, too bad it has the flaw in it. Donnie, they are easy to do, you should give it a try.

I thought that the 2nd one was my favorite due to the wrap, but then I saw your pet wood. WOWWWZERS! You certainly do have the talent!

Love the rings! I like the second best- what kind of stone is that red one?

Thanks for the compliments, grizman and Tela. Tela, I knew someone was gonna ask about the stone in the second. I picked up a five gallon bucket of the stuff at a BBQ/silent auction of a local club. I believe it is a type of jasper, it's predominantly red, with black and blue areas on it. The stones are all smallish, no bigger than a small apple - around three inches in diameter or so.
I'll pull some out of the bucket and take some pics. Maybe with a pic of the entire piece of rough, someone may know what it is.

Finished this one up last night. I forget the name of the material. Is something like tigereye, but much finer. The stone is Marra Mamba. This piece had an interesting silver band across the slab. If I learn how to do these, maybe I can do a tutorial for yall. Don't think I'm going to ever understand the free style one at the top. For Tela - here's some of the rocks I got at the silent auction. Finally found them, and there were more colors than I remember them having. This is the stone in the second ring posted. The rough as I remember it A small slab (sorry for bad pic) These others had more color than I remember I'm not even sure they are all the same thing! But if anyone recognizes the red/black/blue one, give a shout. Thanks!

The silver streak looks like you intarsia ated the silver wire into it. Marra Mamba is wild stuff. You rings are awesome. Can you do anything?

Thank you, James - again. The streak was natural not intarsia ated. I haven't done any of that yet. Can I do anything?? Most indubitably! I can do pert near anything I set my mind to. (Don't let that scare you, jamesp.)

Thanks, Roy! I did another ring (#8) last night, won't bore you with a pic. Now I've got to start wrapping some pendants.

Sure Jean, be selfish and keep the best one for yourself. That was supposed to be mine. I'll bet you do not remember that. I am sure I told you. Great work. Jim

Jim, that's the problem with doing your own stones and wire wrapping, you have first right of refusal! That can be a good thing or a bad thing... I'll probably wear it for awhile until someone sees it, likes it and wants it. I'll probably come up with a number and if they want it, I'll end up selling it to them. It's 14K gold filled, about a size eight.
I don't wear rings much, I do too much with my hands and rings get in the way - especially when working on cars, have to take them off. That's how I lost my high school ring, took it off in autoshop, and left it by the sink - that hurt!! I wasn't even a senior yet.
It's only the best one for right now, there will be better ones down the road. Thanks for the compliment, @wampidy.
