Mostly it's liberals who complain and whine and carry on about jobs going overseas. From my chair the view shows it is liberal policies that put it in place.
Liberals and unions are bed buddies. In most cases union wages are artificially high. So, why can we blame corporate executives for outsourcing? They have a fiduciary responsibility to the shareholders to maximize profits. Send 1000 customer service support jobs to India/Phillipines at US$1/hr or keep them here for $18. They MUST send those jobs overseas. There is very little thought to the decision really.
Minimum wage is also liberal policy that sends mfg jobs overseas.
True, everyone has an opinion but why preach negativity? You are the most negative person that I have ever run across. Pessimism will get you, where? It is just like the druggies, they want everyone else to try it and suck them down too. Jim
I'm not a negative person i'm a "realist" there's a difference and people don't like dealing with the truth and are happier in lala land, being lied to and unrealistic expectations like public unions basing future benefits on forever 7% gains: globaleconomicanalysis.blogspot.com/2013/09/future-of-medicine-meet-sedasys-your.htmlIt is what it is. That's just the way things are---the reality of the situation seems negative and no one wants to deal with that. To me the whole idea of spending the rest of your life fighting to get things back to the way they were is negative because you're not going to go anywhere and maybe even in reverse. I'm not trying to drag anyone down. It's just the sting of reality that makes it seem that way.

I am also a realist. I have said on here many times that we are in a down hill slide and it is greased all the way down. I am not trying to fix it. I do what I can (recycling etc) because I have grand children that are going to be in the middle of the wreck. I do not discuss it with them until they are adults and on their way to a career. One grand daughter started college as a sophomore and is going for her doctorate. To her the reality is to try to save babies. There is not going to be a machine for that. If I would have taught her a long time ago that there is no reason to try to save the world she may have just said to hell with it and not do anything to better herself.
I would guess that in her life time there will be a lot more suffering than there is now. The planet can not feed all the people now so what is it going to be like in ten, twenty or thirty years. And do you know who is going to suffer the most? The children, just like they are now. If everyone gives up now the crash is going to be much sooner and much harder.
Enjoy life, do what you can and hope for the best. Don't go down without a fight. Jim

Jim' yes and no on the feed all the people part. America could easily feed all of its own people. However, in a 100 mile radius of me every single plantable acre is Monsanto modified corn and soy beans. Unfit for human consumption. All for Bio gas and bio diesel. And the acres that are planted in edible grain crops ? Why they're all contracted to China and a few other countries. If we did away with exporting our crops, and growing inedible grains, we could feed every hungry American with no problem. We grow crops to export or give away too hungry countries, then turn right around and import the very same types of crops to feed ourselves at greatly inflated prices. The few farmers who are still growing food crops are being regulated out of existence. Even the folks who grow their own family vegetable garden are under attack by the federal government. If you grow more than your family needs, don't you dare get caught trying to sell or give away the excess without a growers license. Instead, you have to plow the excess under. Thankfully here in S.D., for the most part the local and state government have thumbed their noses at the stupid federal regs, but it's only a matter of time until big brother cracks down on us.

I agree with everything you say Don but what I was trying to point out (not good I guess lol) is that the planet can not support the number of people on the planet and the population is supposedly going to double in 10-15 years. I do not remember the number of years that they are predicting but it is not far out. There are few places that have a surplus of food. The crazy exporting and importing of the same thing to make the corporations richer makes is difficult to figure out where we stand. We import a lot of food, especially fruit and veggies so somebody either has a surplus or their people are going hungry. Monsanto controls something like 90% of the world food supply and it keeps going up because their modified crops take over all the native crops by cross pollination. I could rant on that subject for an hour but all I will say for now is that Monsanto will eventually control the planet by controlling the food supply and we will be in much deeper poop than we are now. Hope you other early birds enjoy the day today. Jim

Advances in food production practices keep increasing yearly harvests. While this may slow, it will not stop.
Fresh water will run out before food.
The socialist liberal progressives in Sacramento & Washington DC are already choosing rivers over feeding humans. HUUUUUGE tracts of very productive central valley of CA land now fallow and becoming a dust bowl. No water. They have a self loathing death wish.
Mel left in time to avoid seeing this travesty.
