I can't find much technical information on it. It is silicated mud, but that's not a jasper, is it? I am trying to become more educated.

Jasper, agate, flint, chert, etc, etc,...it's all just silicated something or another. here's my complicated test: silicated and can't see through it? = Jasper. silicated and can see through it? = agate. LOL

Interesting how so many things can be called jasper when they're not. Picasso jasper, really marble. Bumble bee "jasper", is also something else. Lots of rhyolites are called jasper Seems like what is referred to as jasper can come from all types of stone The sedimentary jaspers like picture jaspers or noreena The Igneous rhyolites that get baked a little harder and are therefore porcelain jasper The jasper nodules like bruneau, morrisonite, and royal sahara, metamorphic rock. Seems like jasper can be anything if that's what we call it. What is it really?

You know, ever since I was a little kid, I've liked to play in the mud. Now I know why!

Thank you everyone!! I have been trying real hard to wrap my brain around things until they have become clear as mud.
