Anyone know how good these Criterion blades are? Is it worth building/buying a 16" saw for? Picked this up from someone about twenty-four years ago, for $50. Had no idea was gonna get into cutting up rocks down the road, just seemed too good a deal to pass up! Even if I had a 16" saw that could use this blade, it would not be big enough to cut up this big booger from North Cady Mtns trip. Thanks in advance for any info.

The Criterion blades were good blades. I don't know that I would buy or build a 16" saw just to mount that blade on though. You could always sell it and put the money towards a blade that will fit the saw you have. Larry C.

It is a notched rim not crimped. Same as a BD old style 301. Very good American made blade.

You can bet we'd come up with a bitchin design, Scott, but it won't be happenin' for a while. A 16" saw won't be big enough, anyway. Maybe do what Larry said - sell the blade and use the money towards a bigger saw.
I'm confused about continuous, notched and crimped blades. Had bought a crimped Chinese blade (it sucked!) that looked just like this one. I thought notched meant it was not continuous??

Jean I think 16" is a fine size. I was even gonna say - how much for one for me so you guys can build two!

You can always run a 16 inch blade in a 18 inch saw...
