Having started another contest on FB gave me an opportunity to start this month early. The challenge on FB is in regards to shields. So I took 3 slabs and gave it a try. First up is Kristee's Rainforest. Fantastic material, but forgot how easily it crumbles, so had to re-cut it to at least get close to the predetermined shape to enter at FB. Second up is also Kristee's OJ. Not finished. Need to redo the curves, and some scratches remain across the top. Last but not least (my favorite of the 3), Daniels Pawancawa with copper sheets. Really like the color combination, but unfortunately thats the only piece left. Hope Daniel is OK and will have more of the stuff when he returns. Thanks for looking, Kurt

Thanks Rich. Yep, lets see how many people are willing to leave their comfort-zone and try something new. I enter only the Rainforest or is that Lilly-pad.

I think I am going to try one of those shapes. They look fun, and frustrating lol. Good luck! I like the last one best as well

I LOVE those shapes. I'm really partial to shields. You've done a great job framing up all 3. Like yourself, I like the third best. It seems to have a life- like it wants to say something. Really cool.

Yeah I've been seeing those on facebook. I really like the 3rd, it looks like some sort of monster tooth.

Awesome awesome! I think I missed your title the first time. The first is Lillypad Jasper and even though it is called a jasper it is actually a rhyolite.
