Well as 2013 nears an end I thought I would take some pictures of some of the tumbled rocks that have accumulated here at our house. We have ran the lot-o non stop for the entire year and have gotten a fresh batch every 7 days so I figure we have finished between 150 and 200 pounds this year alone. These pictures do not include my boys private stashes of their "favorite ones". I had fun taking these photos and it was good to look back at some of these fun batches of rocks. Group shot (for scale that wicker basket has over 30 pounds in it) Pudding stones Montana agates slices Arizona pet wood Ohio flint ridge (about 20 pounds in this photo) Obsidian and apache tears Lake Superior agates Lake Huron beach finds Corals (Thanks James) Quartz And the rest are pictures from of our many jars and bowls of mixed rock Thanks for looking, Chuck

That's a lot of rocks. My son would need a bigger bed if we polished that many.

The first thing that came to mind was Rob's son storing the rocks in his room. Very funny.
Everyone likes to see what comes out of the tumbler. Like sawing a killer agate nodule in half.
I understand the obsession. Rock on. And i like your industrialist approach to tumbling Chuck.
And working to get a repeatable process is fun part too.
But top on the list is you find so much of your stuff. That caps the deal. And your family gets into it.
Now i get to pick my favorite batch. And it is hands down the Lake Huron beach finds. Go ahead and shoot me. They are fine. It would be cool to see close up photos of those. They compare strongly with the others. And fractures are not so much an issue. Maybe those are from many years of collecting....
thanks for showing those

Impressive in both quality and quantity! Too many favorites to single one out. You could make a nice lampshade with those Montanas.

That's funny John/thunder69, the first thing I thought of was a Thanksgiving feast when I saw that first photo, but there are no turkeys in this one.

That is very impressive by any standard. Really like the variety and the colors are great. Good perspective on what can be done at home when you put your mind and time to it. Keep 'em rolling!

Thanks everyone. Its funny to hear people say they like the local beach finds best out of all the exotic location stuff that's in those mixed batches. I really like the apache tears and of course the flint ridge material since we made the trip to get it.
Tom- we did sell about 40-50 pounds this year and gave away a good amount too.

A lot of effort there, like it all, but will favorite the mixed lots because of the variety.
